We begin our journey to the Goddess in Glastonbury, connecting with the "Isle of Avalon," the mystical land of the Morrigan and legendary land of Marion Zimmer Bradley’s book “The Mists of Avalon”. We will stay at a nurturing retreat center nestled amongst the Somerset levels, surrounded by misty green landscape, sacred apple groves and tiny meandering lanes. We will make pilgrimage up the labyrinthine levels of the Tor, and perform private healing rituals at Chalice Well. We will spend afternoons in the towns of Avebury and Wells to walk amongst the world’s largest Henge, pay respects to the Ancestors at West Kennet, see a special clock with a beautiful depiction of the Goddess Diana and discover the secluded stone circle of Stanton Drew. We end our stay in Glastonbury with a special rare sunset ritual inside the giant megaliths of Stonehenge, and give offering to the ancient and enormous Gog and Magog, two of the oldest trees in Glastonbury.
From Avalon, we move onto the windswept, undulating landscape of Dartmoor. We will attend a candlelit concert by renowned musician and artist Carolyn Hillyer, who we will be staying with for the remainder of our trip. We will make Moon Drums with Carolyn, who will also guide us through the magical landscape thick with stone circles, ancient sacred wells, mysterious standing stones and fairy-filled forests.
While staying on Dartmoor, we will make day trips to the lush, green, secret forests and fields of Cornwall, making pilgrimage to sites such as Tintagel and Men-an-Tol, enjoying quaint seaside villages and a mysterious forest. We will trace the steps of thousands of Pilgrims to a sacred well and labyrinth, and visit one of Cornwall’s most powerful, mysterious and hidden stone circles, where we will honor the land in a special sunset ritual by torchlight. There will be an opportunity to hike to St. Nectan’s Kiev, a hidden hermitage that is the gateway to a beautiful waterfall, which has been a place of pilgrimage for many years.
We will complete our time in Dartmoor with a special ritual inside Carolyn and Nigel's "Dartmoor Roundhouse," a traditional Neolithic roundhouse built from scratch about three years ago! We will perform a ritual to bless the Moon Drums we have made and thank the spirits of the land for their gentle guidance on our journey.
Our sisterhood will be sad to let go of the mystical land that has enfolded us in its ancient embrace these last ten days, but one more evening of sacred connection awaits in the ancient town of Bath, where we will stay in a private Manor House. We will "take the waters" at a new Bath Spa, which uses the same ancient thermal spring waters as the original Roman Baths! Connecting with Sulis Minerva, we will give thanks and say farewell with a decadent feast fit for a Goddess. |

Each day of our trip will be a collective experience of sacred pilgrimage through a landscape that may seem strangely familiar to some. We have all been called to this place for a reason, and we encourage expression of that calling through our daily circles and workshops. You will have opportunities to open yourself creatively through journaling, moving, painting, singing, sculpting and drumming. You will also have the opportunity, at any time, to be silent and still. There will be a few optional hikes that are a little more challenging than the rest of our sites, but the energy expended will be rewarded with jaw-dropping natural beauty.
